What’s your name and where are you from?
Debbie, and I’m from the best place for running free as a child – the Wild West Coast.

How long have you been in Queenstown?
20 years

What kind of art do you create?
I love making ceramic flowers. My vision is to start creating pieces that incorporate clay with plants, water and light.

How long have you been making art?
I believe we are all born with an ability to be creative, it doesn’t have a start or a finish. I have been using clay though for two years.

What inspires you?
Being around people and nature. Some people seem to have this ability to unlock pieces of creative potential where random ideas start flowing through my mind. Other times being around a friends different perspective on things can help create or transform and idea. And Instagram.

What do you do for fun?
Apart from playing with clay. I love hanging with my besties…. kayaking, walking, going on holidays, dancing, aurora chasing…

My friend Kylie and I are also trying to come up with some wicked home brew too. That’s always fun.

Do you have a studio?
At the moment I’m super grateful we have a local pottery studio I am able to use. We have a small house and a small section. A kiln and wheel need a bit of space.
